The Harvest of Jurel

Jurel or "yellowtail", as it is called in English, is a fish peculiar subtropical waters. In Aragua, Venezuela, the jurel is an essential part of the coastal people´s diet. The whole town participates in the fishing industry, including sometimes curious tourists and children. The religious component cannot be left out the harvest, of course.

Lifestyle

The Spanish culture has settled in Venezuela. These are some of my pics from 2007-2009. We can see a little girl performing in the arena before the bullfigther starts la lidia in a bullfighting festival in La Maestranza, or some dancers of Flamenco, an ancient Spanish dance.

Venezuelan winter league

In Venezuela every year 8 teams fight for a ticket to the Caribbean Series and become the latin baseball king. It was in the Venezuelan winter league or LVBP, tournament where Andres Galarraga, Omar Vizquel, Johan Santana and Miguel Cabrera (to name a few) took their first steps in pro baseball. Below are some of my favourites pics from 2007-2009
